Are you one of the millions of people who must type emails and other documents as part of your job? Yes? Then chances are that you are having to do this without ever having been taught how to type.

Choosing a typing course that will teach you how to type quickly is not as easy as it seems. All typing classes whether they are online typing courses or classroom based typing classes all have one aim: they want you to teach you how to copy type accurately.

And that’s the problem- most of us don’t need to copy type as part of our day job. Many of you like me are be professional people who do not need to type up someone else’s notes. What we want is a typing course that will show us how to type quickly and accurately using all ten of our fingers because much of what we type comes from our own heads. What’s more we want to learn how to do that quickly.

That’s why I designed the See Type course which will move you from being a two fingered typist to being a ten fingered typist with in a day. Our typing course will show you how to use the correct fingering, sit well, learn shortcuts and avoid common mistakes. This takes place in an informative and enjoyable one day workshop in our well-equipped training suite in Kingston upon Thames, on the South West London and Surrey borders.

On completion you’ll be given a practise programme so that you can perfect your new skill and turn it into ‘habit’ in a matter of weeks, or even just days

Our classes recommence in November with five places available at the promotional price of £125+VAT instead of £175+VAT. Click on this link http://www.useittraining.co.uk/1-day-typing.htm to find out more or email typing@useittraining.co.uk for further info.

Do you have any tips about how to type faster? Then why not add them to the box below.

I get a lot of enquiries from people who need to improve their typing skills quickly. They are often looking for a one day typing course.

There is no magic answer to learning to type. It will always take practice, discipline and persistence See-Type is a great new one day typing course that I have developed. It is for two fingered typists who want to type with ten fingers Forget what you have heard about other typing courses, about the boring drills and repetitive exercises. Forget about it taking months and months to learn to type. Our See-Type course uses a unique five step approach to ensure that you leave the course with your typing skills much improved

We use the best accelerated learning techniques to show you how to:
1. Analyse your mistakes so that you can correct them.
2. Use rhyme, colour and logic to memorise the keyboard quickly
3. Develop that all important muscle memory, the foundation of touch typing
4. Locate and memorise those all-important vowels
5. Develop strategies for memorising the hidden letter keys.

And if that is not enough we also provide you with a step by step follow up programme to help you improve you speed and accuracy back at the office.

Just thought that I would type a few words for those of you looking to book computer training for your staff.

It’s really important to choose the right training company when you’re trusting it with one of your biggest assets – your staff. But once you are confident in your choice of trainers, where should the training be held?

Many companies send staff out to a training facility without considering the alternatives because they believe that this is the only option available to them.

At Use IT Training Ltd we specialise in delivering the most flexible MS Office training in London. We do this by allowing the customer to choose the content, location and timings for their training. If you have a small team, or a very busy team, it might be worth considering holding training courses on your own business premises. It will save your staff valuable time as they won’t need to commute to and from any training facilities, and they may be more relaxed and open to learning in their own environments.

We provide a laptop for each delegate. This is important because it means that staff won’t accidentally overwrite any important company data while they are learning.

If you need any help, please telephone us on 0208 546 5034 or on our Freephone 0800 112 3034 or email us.

We promise a helpful and friendly response, no jargon, and no sales pressure. We will just suggest the best way of using your computers.

Of course, isn’t that why most people persevere through many hours of repetitive typing drills and practice exercises?
It doesn’t have to be this way, there are other courses which are quicker, very often cheaper and will get you typing quicker and more accurately than you do at the moment.
Before you enrol on a course, think about what you are going to use your typing skills for. By this I mean, in which area you are going to work. If you are going to train for secretarial or admin work then I would suggest that you choose a course that teaches touch typing such as those offered by Pitman Training in Kingston or other locations around the country.
If you are a manager or professional, you probably do not need to learn to copy type, what you need is a course that will teach you very quickly how to use all 10 fingers when you are typing.
Our ‘See-Type’ course will teach you to do this in one day. It will also provide you with a post-course practice regime that should fit easily into your daily routine.

You can find out more by contacting one of our course advisers on 0208 546 5034.
Alternatively you can email us to express and interest and we will call you back.

This is a question asked by managers and other professionals, who know it makes sense to learn to touch type but who also, know that it takes time to acquire this skill.

My answer is that there are four main benefits from learning to touch type:

increased productivity at work as less time is spent typing and correcting text

a greater connection between your thoughts and the text because you do not need to worry about where particular keys are located

greater job satisfaction as you are able to devote more time to core activities i.e. those parts of the job which interest you

less risk to your health from Repetitive Strain Injury, ask any manager who suffers from RSI and s/he will tell you how painful and disruptive it is.

If learning to touch type makes sense, then why more don’t people do it? After all it’s not difficult. The answer is of course is that it is time-consuming.

Another reason that people do not learn to touch type is because many of the courses are delivered in the same way through repetitive drills as each letter is introduced.

It is done in this way because these online courses teach you to copy type, a great skill and one that secretaries need, but not necessarily one that managers and professionals require.

Most managers and professionals do not copy type. Their typing is usually original, in that it comes from ideas in their head. There is therefore no reason why they should not be allowed to look at the keyboard while they type.

At Use IT Training Limited, we train people to type with 10 fingers and leave it at that. Some of that typing will be touch typing, some of it will not. After all in how many jobs do you need to use the letter X and Z frequently? Not that many. So why waste time learning to touch type it.

We don’t pretend that our course is a thorough as those touch typing courses that takes months to complete, but we do boast that it’s quick.

Managers and other professionals who attend our one-day course leave being able to type with 10 fingers rather than 2. All delegates are given a post-course daily practice regime that takes no longer than 10 minutes to complete, allowing it to fit into the busiest of schedules.

The combination of the course and the practice regime has worked wonders for them and I think will work wonders for you.

Click on our website http://www.useittraining.co.uk if you would like to know more.

Do you disagree? If so why not leave a comment below.
